WHO WE ARE

Adrian Stone is one of the top Caribbean genealogists in the UK and the founder of Own History. Adrian’s personal journey exploring his family tree and history stemmed from the realisation that he knew very little about his own roots when his mother became ill.
Like with most people of Caribbean heritage, there are huge gaps of disconnection due to slavery and poorly documented migration. The desire to reclaim ownership of Adrian’s specific history was the driving force in creating the now very successful Own History programme.
Own History has enabled Adrian to discover 6000 individual relatives covering a timeline of over 250 years, and the numbers just keep growing. From Bristol to London, Jamaica, Scotland and America, Adrian was ultimately led to an African woman named Ebo Venus (Adrian's 5 x great grandmother) who came to Kellits Slave Plantation in Clarendon Jamaica via slave ships in the 1790's from the Igbo tribe in Nigeria.
